Why choose Microneedling with Dermopen 3.

Dermapen 3™ uses multiple needles to vertically pierce the skin with patent-pending AOVNTM (Automatic Oscillating Vertical Needling) technology. When moved across the skin, the Dermapen 3™ creates millions of fine channels in the skin. The channels can carry up to 80% more topical nutrients, allowing for treatment delivery deep into the skin. It also simulates trauma, which the body responds to by launching a natural healing process.

Advanced skin needling promotes results similar to fractional laser treatments, but without the side effects and downtime. Practitioners have also observed it to be more effective than most microdermabrasion treatments and chemical peels.

Unlike traditional skin needling rollers, Dermapen 3™ causes less trauma and causes minimal epidermal (skin) damage, therefore reducing pain and discomfort, and making it a safer, more effective treatment. Dermapen 3’s disposable single-use cartridges eliminate risk of cross- contamination, while the adjustable depths allow for a treatment tailored to your individual needs. Dermapen 3™ is so advanced, that it is even suitable and safe to use in delicate and hard to reach areas such as around the eyes and lips and on the nose.

Your clinician will assess your skin and treatment area to recommend a treatment plan suitable for you.

FAQ

Q How many treatments are recommended for rejuvenation?
A For general skin rejuvenation and reconditioning, treatments should be conducted every four to six weeks. Treatments conducted at a more superficial depth can be done on a monthly basis. Depending on initial condition of the skin, between 4 and 8 treatments are recommended.

Q Should I prepare my skin before having a Dermapen™ Treatment?
A For optimal results, a course of appropriate DP Dermaceuticals is recommended to allow the skinʼs strength to build-up (especially for thin or delicate skin areas). Continue to use these recommended solutions after the treatments the time period recommended by your practitioner.

Q How long should it take before I see results?
A Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4 to 6 treatments, depending on what is being addressed. Your results may continue to improve for up to 24 months after a course of treatments when combined with the recommended post treatment care.

Q Is the treatment painful?
A For minimal depths, Dermapen 3™ treatments are virtually painless. Treatments over 0.5mm in depth may require a topical anaesthetic cream to be applied before the procedure. This will render the treatments virtually pain free.

Q Is there any downtime after treatments?
A Generally no, but you may experience facial redness for 12-48 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Application of a breathable camouflage, such as Cover RecoverTM, will seal the skin and cover any redness for an immediate return to work.

Q How soon after filler injections can I have a Dermapen 3™ treatment?
A It is recommended to avoid having injectables and Dermapen procedures done within one month of one another; however, based on your healing time, a different recommendation may be made by your practitioner.

How to care for your skin

STEP 1.
Advanced Resurfacing
Your clinician will apply a suitable topical treatment to compliment your advanced skin needling. Between treatments, continue using recommended products as directed to to maintain results.

STEP 2.
Hydrate and Strengthen
For best results, it’s important to keep your skin hydrated and protected from the harsh environment to make it healthy and strong. If you’ll be exposed to the sun always wear appropriate sun protection.

STEP 3.
Cover, Recover & Protect for Beautiful Skin
It’s unlikely you’ll have any side effects after your treatment. However, if you do experience redness or sensitive skin, the use of a post procedure, breathable makeup is recommended. This will help you get back to your everyday activities without anyone suspecting you have even had a treatment. In addition, makeup camouflage coverage can also work as sun protection for the skin.
